Big Tim Sullivan & Tammany Hall

Our subject at the December meeting will be Tim Sullivan & Tammany Hall. Our speaker, Dr. Richard F. Welch, has taught American History at LIU and Farmingdale State College. He served as a trustee of the Suffolk County Historical Society, 2008-2024.
Dr. Welch will help us to refine our identity of Tammany Hall: the epitome of corruption or in the vanguard of progressive causes like labor rights and women's suffrage? New York City government has dominated the headlines recently. Do we have a contemporary Tammany Hall?
Join us on Wednesday, December 18th at the Garden City Public Library. The meeting begins at 7:00pm, and is free and open to the public.
